I've made a fresh install of kubuntu 8.10 to play around in KDE4 goodness, but I have a problem with GRUB not showing up after installation - just the missing operating system message... no GRUB at all. The installation went fine, the live cd checks out as well as md5.
I've later installed openSUSE on another partition... tried reinstalling the kubuntu and after reboot I was greeted by the opensuse grub - nothing changed?!?!?!! Tried updating grub conf in opensuse via yast, it found the kubuntu installation added it, however after trying to select it from grub during boot I get to the kubuntu grub and than I get missing file... something is deffinitelly wrong.
I've noticed that my OS hdd is recognized everywhere as sda and kubuntu registers it as sdc... important?
here is the menu.lst from the kubuntu:
