Installing on Windows 7

I couldn't get mint to install do to my cd drive over heating but I was determined to get it installed. I used the install under windows program (wubi if it was ubuntu, not sure if its the same name in mint) and all was well untill I rebooted. When it boots there is no boot menu it just goes straight to the windows loader. Apparently this doesn't work with Ubuntu and Windows 7 ether but maybe one of you will know the trick.
