Greetings,
I want to set up Mint Linux 64 bit with 8 Gb of RAM on 4 hard drives. 1 drive would be for boot, swap and the Mint install. The other 3 will be set up as LVM RAID 5 and used to store media files, etc. I'll share it with SAMBA and nfs. I've noted that it is difficult to set up Mint with LVM as the boot. Will I run into trouble with the route I want to take? Any suggestions?
Thanks,
T

You don't want to use LVM for boot - that would be very difficult
The best way to get an opinion on this would be to search the forum - Advanced search - for RAID and the user name Fred
Fred is very knowledgeable when it comes to RAID, hard disks in general and lots of other stuff
