Mint & Kubuntu

Postby natchezjohn on Mon Feb 09, 2009 10:08 am

I wish to checkout KDE. I have Mint installed within XP (it works MAGNIFICENTLY) and wish to install Kubuntu also within XP. Can I do that - HOW!

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

It's you use of the phrase " installed within XP" that throws me. Are you running Mint in VirtualBox on WinXP? If so then just create another Virtual Machine named Kubuntu.

No. If you boot the "live disk" while XP is running you get an option to create a folder within windows that gives you the option at boot to go to LinuxMint or XP.
Works fine.

BTW you get the same option if you boot the Kubuntu "live" while running XP. But if you do it - it replaces the Mint installation.

Ah, you're talking about Wubi. I have no experience with it but you might look at the following:
