Transfering .disk mint4win image to HD partition?

Postby el_b on Tue Mar 03, 2009 6:10 pm

Is it possible, to transfer the files inside m4w to a HD partition, and then just boot it? I want to switch my W1nbl0wd Vis7@h to XP, it's alot better, and the performance is fine. I don't want to do the mint install and drivers all over again.
Thanks.

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

mint4win is one (giant) ISO file so there really are no files - just one, but of course there are "files" inside
Some of the files differ widely from a normal install (mainly menu.lst and fstab)
It seems to be possible - see this topic

Don't fix it if it ain't broken, don't break it if you can't fix it
