Installing Felicia over Daryna - HELP!

Postby wjwheels on Sat Mar 07, 2009 3:23 pm

I want to install Felicia in the same partition as Daryna. Here is my present partition table:

/dev/sda1 extended
/dev/sda8 ext3 /,/dev/.static/dev
/dev/sda9 ext3 /home
/dev/sda5 linux-swap
/dev/sda6 ntfs
/dev/sda7 ntfs /media/sda7

When running the install disk and I choose the "Manual" method, and I ONLY format sda8, will Felicia be installed to that partition automatically and leave all other partitions intact?
Thank you in advance. I'll watch for an answer.

Yes, and make sure to use the mount point /
Then select /dev/sda9 make it ext3.
Then use the mount point of /home and make sure not to format.
This will probably cause config problems.
I know it should cause problems with mintMenu, but if you unset these it'll work.
Run this in terminal, after the Felicia install, to rest mintMenu:
Code: Select all
gconftool-2 –recursive-unset /apps/mintMenu
