Vista won't boot

Postby Kittel on Tue Mar 10, 2009 10:27 pm

I get the option for Windows vista/longhorn on the boot screen, but when selected it just says "starting up" with a flashing cursor.

The installation worked fine, and mint runs perfectly.

I checked my partitions in mint, and I don't think I put anything out of place.

any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

Do you use mint4win?
From mint you should be able to see the Vista partition
I discover I don't know enough about the Vista boot to tell what to look for - it's different from XP which I know well

Don't fix it if it ain't broken, don't break it if you can't fix it

While booted into Mint go to terminal and post the output of:

Code: Select all
sudo fdisk -l

and also:

Code: Select all
cat /boot/grub/menu.lst
