Linux Mint 6 KDE RC1: installation issue

Postby adrien on Thu Mar 12, 2009 6:58 pm

Hi,
I downloaded and burnt the image of LinuxMint-6-KDE-RC1.iso to install it on my pc (running also vista).
The live cd boots; Everything goes well while the install runs except that when It arrives at step 4 , the window "prepare disk space" doesn't show up and the window "prepare partition" , which appears still, is empty.
I don't get what is wrong. Any idea of what could be wrong or what I did not do right?

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

Hi,

Is it something dealing with my disk controller?

I'm having the same issue installing Mint 6. I'm currently running version 5 and have been for some time. I attempted to install but when the installer gets to the part where you create or specify the partition, nothing shows up. Also the buttons at the bottom are greyed out - in other words, I can't click them, they do nothing. Anybody have any idea what might be going on??

The system runs fine as a live cd.

Thanks,

Tim

Ok,
Finally after reading Releases on linuxmint.com i found that my issue was due to the fact that the disk was mounted and so it could not install on it.
