Hi
Edgy Bug?
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+sour ... +bug/96084
Is this on live CD or has it just started on an installed system?
If you have two CD/DVD drives try the other on-assuming live CD

Hi
Can You post the specification of you computer:
Motherboard. number of hard drives, SATA or IDE etc etc

Can You try the CD you are using in another computer?
If CD does not work in another computer, can you reburn it at low speed

Hi
Seems to be a problem with Intel DG965RY motherboards,

http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php? ... ht=DG965RY

I see it seems to boot OK by using an usb cdrom on this motherboard.

The board "appears" to work on Fiesty

Since Clem is basing Cassandra on Feisty, I believe, maybe wait,( or borrow usb cdrom :) )

Unless somebody else can come up with some ideas

Anybody Please!!

wht is a usb cdrom
A USB CDROM is an External CD/DVDrewriter

For example:
http://www.cclonline.com/product-info.a ... &tid=27449
It fits in your usb port.

I believe your motherboard has a Jmicron controller which causes problems

See;

http://www.linuxmint.com/forum/viewtopi ... ron&t=1273

See:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+sour ... +bug/96523

There is a person there with an system exactly the same as yours with exactly the same problems
