How can I install a Jaunty Kernel on Felicia?

Postby soundcheck on Thu Mar 26, 2009 12:05 pm

Hi folks.

I would like to get the newest Ubuntu rt-Kernel from the BETA repo of Ubuntu Jaunty installed on my Felicia installation.

Can anybody tell me how to do this without messing up my Felicia?

2.6.28-3.8 is the newest rt kernel in the Jaunty repos.

Hi.

Perhaps it is better to play with a 2.6.29 kernel:

Just read over here: http://lkml.org/lkml/2009/3/25/480 that Gleixner/Molnar have finally revised the rt-patch in 2.6.29

after 1,5 years ( http://lkml.org/lkml/2009/2/11/405 ) not doing anything about it. I am wondering if the Jaunty 2.6.28 rt-kernel would be the best choice.I had severe problems
with the current Ubuntu rt-kernel.

The patch is available as final rt1. http://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/projects/rt/

I'll make myself a 2.6.29-rt1
