Hi all,

I'm new to Mint and hopefully right here asking a question regarding upgrading (install & boot in the wider sense).

The program Software Update says "New distribution release 7.04 is available" and a button "Upgrade" shows up on the rhs - very inviting.

Before I damage my Mint installation: Is this the intended way to upgrade Mint to the next ubuntu (which it is derived from) version?

NO do not upgrade to 7.04.
