How can I install Mint on the hdd of a pc without optical

Postby palmtree on Thu Apr 09, 2009 4:13 pm

I will start by saying that I have zero, zip, nil experience with Linux. I just bought a used pico-itx computer that currently has no OS or optical drive. It does have a 2.5" hdd that I would like to install mint on. I have read tutorials about booting from a USB flash drive but I don't want to always boot from the flash drive. I would like to use the flash drive as way to install Mint on the hard drive (just like you tipically would with the CD). Can anyone help me?
Thanks

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

It's possible (and not that difficult) to install Mint on your HD from a USB drive.

This topic explains it: viewtopic.php?f=42&t=24038

Yes Unetbootin is the best... you don't even need a brain to use it... which works well for me  8)
