Live DVD wil not boot on laptop

Post by mazway »

I can not boot live Dvd on Compaq laptop. I can boot live CDs Mint or suse. I can play movies with DVDs. I have several good Mint KDE Dvds that I burned. I installed it on my desktop. It works great. The best distro yet. I would like to replace the Mint gnome with kde on my laptop, but it goes straight into the old grub menu. Any ideas about what's going on?

Well could be, but the Win XP and the mint on the laptop doesn't see the Live DVD either.

OK! It was the the media used or the way I recorded it. I tried a Live BDS that I burned with same problem. A Live Sabyon a friend gave me worked. So, it is the DVD player being too choosy on the laptop. They all worked on my desktop. Thanks for the reply.
