Installing through USB-pendrive

Postby sheldork on Wed Apr 22, 2009 7:44 am

Hi!

This will probably seem like a newbie question, but oh well. :)

The thing is that I want to install Linux Mint on my netbook, a Lenovo S10e. But it doesn't have a cd/dvd-reader, so I'd like to do it through a USB-pendrive. I've tried to both google and search these forums for answers, but I couldn't find any..

And there is a way, is it possible to create the bootable pendrive through windows or do I have to boot the system using the live cd?

Thanks,
sheldork

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

If you have Linux Mint 6 there is usb-creator in synaptic.
And some how-tos here:
http://www.pendrivelinux.com/
And then there's:

http://sourceforge.net/projects/unetbootin/
