Installing through USB-pendrive

Hi!
This will probably seem like a newbie question, but oh well.
The thing is that I want to install Linux Mint on my netbook, a Lenovo S10e. But it doesn't have a cd/dvd-reader, so I'd like to do it through a USB-pendrive. I've tried to both google and search these forums for answers, but I couldn't find any..
And there is a way, is it possible to create the bootable pendrive through windows or do I have to boot the system using the live cd?
Thanks,
