Well, my computer already had Mint installed and it failed to boot.

I put the istallation CD in and try and boot off that. After checking through some random things it booted but now im on the login screen but my old usernames and passwords arent working?

Is there a defualt user/pass or do I have to do something else to get in?

Thanks,

Ben.

??
You should not see a login screen in the live CD/DVD - and most definitely your details don't work :)
Bad CD?

If you know the CD is OK I start suspecting hardware failure...

Thats what Im thinking.

Could someone put me in the direction of a very small (Megabytes wise) Linux Distro so I can just download and try and boot that?

Thanks, Ben.

DSL Damn Small Linux or really small Supergrub (only about 20 MB) which gives a bootable CD and is a great tool
PS Google for it
