Dualboot Mint and Windows XP with Truecrypt?

Postby upsidedownkiwi on Tue May 05, 2009 8:54 am

Hi everyone,

Right now, I have an aging IBM ThinkCenter running Windows XP on a single partition 80GB drive.
The drive is encrypted with Truecrypt, which uses pre-boot authentication.

How can I install Linux Mint without damaging the pre-boot authentication, being able to dualboot Mint and Windows,
and (if possible) access the (encrypted) Windows share from within linux mint?

Anyone's help would be greatly appreciated! :D

Cheers!

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

No expert on this but it seems you have to decrypt to change partition size
I don't know (could not find) if changing the MBR will harm your partition
I think you have to dig in to the Truecrypt documentation
It is however possible to use Truecrypt in Mint

Don't fix it if it ain't broken, don't break it if you can't fix it
