Data-partition?

Postby Zawn on Thu May 07, 2009 2:56 am

Hi,

First of all i hope you all can forgive my bad english. I´am from germany..

Yesterday after my windows was broken and didnt boot anymore, i formated my harddrives and installed mintlinux (Felicia).

In my pc i have two 250GB s-ata harddrives with no raid. i installed mint und the first drive (sda) with the guided partition from the mintlinux setup.
so far everything goes fine. but now my second drive (sdb) is unformated und unused. i plan to use ist as a data-only partition and tried to format it in ext3 and as a new partition. after this i set the mode to lvm and mount it in my filesystem. now it shows it on my desktop and looks very good. my problem is that i cant write with "normal user rights on this partition". only if i open it as root i can write to it. it i rightclick the drive i cant set any access rights for my user. (everything is gray).

how can i give my user write-rights to this partition?

thank you!
patrick
