LiveCd Nautilus segfault - workaround found

I'm getting a blank desktop on livecd7 boot and can't access Nautilus. Never had this problem previous versions. Don't have any problems with my other boxes. Error log shows the following:
mint kernel: [ 134.369658] nautilus[5459]: segfault at a25e008 ip b5cdc7dd sp b5ccafc0 error 4 in libbrasero-media.so.0.1.1[b5ccc000+1e000]

To see if problem was Mint or Ubumtu related, I also tried a Ubuntu 9.04 live cd & got the same problem with similar error message:
ubuntu kernel: [ 112.259035] nautilus[5637]: segfault at a275008 ip b63517dd sp b633ffc0 error 4 in libbrasero-media.so.0.1.1[b6341000+1e000]

Search on Ubuntu forums (admittedly only brief) doesn't offer any solutions but have seen others with similar problems.

I'm running an old P4 with Intel 915GAV mb, 1 gig ram & a Samsung 940B monitor.

Any ideas before I attempt a hard disk install.

Thanks

John

PS actually posting from live cd.

Looks like there could be a bug in brasero according to Ubuntu forums.

One of the other posts inferred problem lay with blank disk in cd drive. On a hunch, I rebooted with live cd in DVD drive instead of cd drive and things booted normally, with desktop, Nautilus etc. Now time to install to hard drive. :)
