black box in usplash-theme-mint-stripes

Hallo everyone !!

At first *THANK YOU* for Gloria ....

BUT, I want back the Linux Mint 6 Felicia Artwork, all at all it's too much 'green' for me.

O.K. it my opinion .... forgive me guys !

To change the Gnome-Theme, and Grub-Menu-Screen .... solved, no problem !

I'm happy to find the old usplash-theme-mint-stripes in the repository......

.... installing works great & the StartUp-Manager to change usplash, everything fine.

But now, while booting there is a ugly black-box under the LinuxMint Logo and bootprocess-indicator.

Normally it's the place for the routine-HD-check-message, but now there's a black box all the time.

What can i do, please help ?

Many greetings

Oliver

What's your screen resolution?
Mine's 1280x1024 but it shows the black bars.
So I edit /etc/usplash.conf for 1024x768:

Code: Select all

gksu gedit /etc/usplash.conf

Code: Select all

xres=1024
yres=768
Then run

Code: Select all

sudo update-initramfs -u

Thank you for your answer... I tried your resolution and my 1440x900, but no effect.

I think it's not a resolution problem, there are no black bars at side or top of the striped background,
it's a black box ontop the background under LinuxMint Logo and green bootprocess-indicator.

Maybe this box has to be transparent until the routine-HD-check takes this place ????

Again, thank you !

Did i say ?.... I love Gloria :D

Greets,

Oliver
