LM7 Dual Boot With Windows 7 RC "NTLDR is Missing"

Postby Finakechi on Fri Jun 26, 2009 2:05 am

I had folloed one of the guides in the dual boot post at the top of this forums, and everything was working fine until Windows downloaded updates. Now I have to manually select my hard drive from the boot menu to get it to boot into grub.

I have had this issue once before on a seperate hard drive and I was never able to get it fixed even after completely getting rid of Windows. Has anyone else had this problem? I have had it with two seperate HDDs and two seperate PCs.

Windows is the complainant

ntldr missing is a windows bootloader issue, so I don't know why for a software update of the system that windows would have rewritten the bootloader files, but that is the case..

You can get GRUB back by reinstalling GRUB

Ok, tried re-installing GRUB. And that did nothing.

Computer won't even boot from the CD first. I have to select it from the Boot Menu.
