Writing ISO image on a DVD

Ditch Nero and try imgBurn for ISO burning.

Silly question . . but have you set your BIOS to boot to your cd/dvd first?

Since nowadays CDroms aren't as around as they used to be, and I couldn't find any nearby, I Wrote the image I just downloaded from here on a DVD.
I mounted the image and wrote the content of the iso image with Nero in windows XP, and with ISO standard.

I use a RW CD as a scratch disk; rather than waste time creating CD or dvd coaster, if the burn doesn't work,
--and if your computer can boot a usb , you could use unetbootin to create a bootable USB stck, and use that instead

And when you opened the burned dvd you saw the complete iso file size ? matching the size you downloaded
--because burning an CD sized *.iso file onto a dvd doesn't always work that well..

Re-reading this thread, I noticed something . .

The image did not need to be mounted. There should be a choice in Nero to "Write image to disk", then it will ask for the iso file, if not in Nero, then imgBurn should.

For burning distro's ISO I always use DVD Decrypter.I never had a problem with it.

You need to burn as image in Nero, not just burning the .ISO to disk.

--try xfburn, it uses a different library than wodim/nautilus/brasero/gnomebaker etc..
