Postby torres on Sat Jul 04, 2009 6:55 am

Hi, i try to use the mint distr on my system, but i cant, I only can use the liveCD. When i install OS on hard disk, and boot it the grub say me any of these errors>

Error 22 No such partition ???
Error 23 error while parsing number ????

I try to modify in the grub the line of root *root (hd3,4)* , looking for the correct disk and partition, but i cant.
I try since root(hd0,1) to root(hd3,2) and sda, b, c...
i reinstall mint 3 or 4 times, and ever the same errors

mint / # sfdisk -x -d /dev/sdd
# partition table of /dev/sdd
unit: sectors

/dev/sdd1 : start= 63, size= 16000677, Id=82, bootable (swap)
/dev/sdd2 : start= 16000740, size=140295645, Id=83 (ext3)
/dev/sdd3 : start= 0, size= 0, Id= 0

You have a mix of SATA and PATA disks
This makes me convinced the solution is found here

Don't fix it if it ain't broken, don't break it if you can't fix it
