Sudden dual-boot issues

Postby fstath on Sat Jul 04, 2009 3:51 pm

So unexpectedly on boot, I noticed Linux Mint duplicated itself in the Grub file and now whenever trying to boot XP I get this error:

"Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt:
<Windows root>\system32\hal.dll.
Please re-install a copy of the above file"

I went in the Grub file and removed the duplicated Mint, but I have no clue what happened with XP since I almost never boot into it.

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.
