Synaptic progress bar ?

Postby ddalley on Sun Aug 02, 2009 11:35 am

Just a curiosity, here...

When using Synaptic to install packages, the percentage of the progress bar doesn't represent the numbers shown - the ratio, say, 4 out of 39 may have a progress bar of 2-3%, maybe less.

The world won't end over this, but I am curious at to why that is.

click the details button and it'll be obvious: different packages take longer to download/install due to their size, so the overall percentage indicator is accurate.
