checking HDD for errors in Gloria

Postby dnmint on Sat Aug 29, 2009 10:21 pm

While booting Gloria, it showed '30 logins without check of hda6, now force checking'.... checked & marked 'clean'. It sdaid something about fsck command.
1.Are we supposed to run fsck command , if so how.
2. Is it Ok to let Gloria do it once in a while ?
Advice please
Thanks

If it drops you into a CLI login, than run it as it says. If it doesn't, you're okay.

It is just a routine maintainance. It does this so you don't have to run fsck (unless it tells you to) (this answers question 1)

You should let this happen, otherwise the drives won't be checked and you might miss some big error that causes you to lose your data.
