Boot Problems in Cassandra

Hey Guys! First post here. I can't boot at all into mint. I do the "safe mode" and the boot fails after it says sometthing to the effect of "driver usbcore..."
sorry I cant be more me of a help but that is all I remember. This is a new install that hasn't ever booted save for the LiveCD. Have any suggestions? I am a newbie to Mint but for what its worth i have used Ubuntu a bit.

have you tried reinstalling?

since it is a new install and has not booted yet I can not see a problem installing again.
