Unable to boot to mint after windows re-installation

On my hard drive, I previously installed windows XP, and then mint, allowing grub to take over as the boot manager. However, in order to fix a problem I was having with XP, I had to reinstall it. This resulted in winodeows becoming the primary OS (nasty system....) which automatically boots itself up without giving me amy options. In order to try and restore Grub, i installed another small distro from a live cd, and chose to install Grub as the bootloader. This workde, but Grub only recognises PClinuxOS and windows XP now, not my Linux MInt partitions (the / , and /home ). Can anyone help me out restoring Mint to my bootup menu?

You could repair grub from any linux live CD as long as your Linux is otherwise undamaged

Thanks guys, I will try this when I get home from work! the super grub disk option looks the most promising, so I will attempt that. On an unrelated note, are there any good dvd ripping peices of software available for mint?!
