Slow boot. Is there anyway to make it faster?

Postby tripper22 on Fri Dec 22, 2006 2:20 am

I have Bea final. During the boot process I hit f1 and see starting up ... for approx 1 minute or so. Is this normal? Is there a way I can speed up the boot process?

Thanks in advance! :D

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

My install takes about 1 min to get to the Desktop, for speed tweaking I always use something along the lines of this,

Find startup from menu and remove marks from all of those. It fastened my starting process with 30 seconds. Biggest reason is if it starts download manager at startup and that one only is +20 seconds.
