Disable user Mint from auto logon

I installed a copy of Linux Mint 8 on a USB jump drive. I created a new user called geo, granted this account all the rights it needs to access the system. When I boot from this USB jump drive on any computer, Mint 8 will automatically logon as mint (the liveuser account). In order to use my account I have to log off and then log in as geo.

I've been to Control Center and tried to change the settings for the Login Screen to display the GDM instead of autologin, I've tried to change the autologin to my account, but every-time I boot the system will not keep my preferred login settings for which account to use.

I think Mint 8 is running some scripts at boot but I don't know where they are or if the can be modified.

Is there a way to configure a USB jump drive running Mint 8 with a persistence file to stop the auto login?

Regards,
George
