package list Helena [SOLVED]

Postby zarknl on Sat Jan 23, 2010 9:09 am

Is there a package (.deb) list available, so that i can check if my system has all the packages needed?

Or is there another way to verify my system? (for broken or missing)

Thanks!

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

zarknl,

Open Synaptic Package Manager System>Administration>Synaptic Package Manager
There is a line of text at the bottom of the window which tells you if anything is broken.
If it is click on the Edit option and choose Fix Broken Package.

But in that way i can not see if there is anything missing from clean install...

So, how do i check that?

I don't know what is missing, that's why i want to verify my installation

The missing maybe caused by upgrading or maybe by doing something stupid :-)

So, is there a way to verify, if i have have still all the packages, required to have a fully functioning system, for example compared to a clean install?

You might look at this question as a general one, not because there is a specific complaint

Thanks!

from a good system:

dpkg --get-selections > selections.txt

that creates a list of installed packages
