USB install password

Post by mikkie »

I installed Mint on my 4 gb flash drive using the installer from this site: http://www.pendrivelinux.com/install-li ... n-windows/. It has worked great, but I did have to do a soft reboot (Crtl-Alt-Backspace) today. When it came back up, it asked for a password. I was never asked to create a password during install, so I had to shut it off and restart. Does anyone know what the default password is for this install? I tried "password", "1234", "administrator", and "passwd" but none worked.

Hmm, there shouldn't be one... are you sure it doesn't say that it will log you in automatically in 10 seconds?

No. There is a log in box. If I just let it sit there, that's what it does....sit. No auto log in after 10 sec or 60 secs. No passwords that I can think of work. At this point I have to do a full restart when the OS hangs.

try just pressing Enter without entering a password. Also, some people have found that "Mint" works.
