I re-sized a partition on my hard drive and from that point I can't use G-Parted to open and look at partitions... it just hangs up. Also Mint cannot see (mount) usb drives at all. Can anyone suggest how to sort out this situation? It seems like I need to start from scratch, erasing all partitions and re-installing Mint and other partitions.
thanks

Re: gparted hanging
Which partition had you resized on your hard drive? As a rule of thumb it is never a good idea to edit partitions on a mounted disc - meaning you should always boot from a LiveCD to edit your partition layout on your primary hard drive. Resizing always has a small chance of breakage - and resizing while partitions are still mounted increases this chance.
Maybe not the answer you where looking for, but I hope it sheds some light on the issue.
