When I try to boot the DVD in the standard configuration, I just get a grey screen with vertical stripes.
When I boot the DVD in the compatibility mode, I get the following message.
Ubuntu is running in Low-graphics mode
(EE) VESA: Kernel modesetting driver in use, refusing to load
(EE) VESA: No devices detected
I then click on OK and it drops into terminal.
And yes, it does this if I remove irqpoll from the compatibility boot line.
My computer is a Dell Inspiron 1501 laptop.
I have Mint 8 installed (alongside Win 7) and have had Mint 6 installed in the past
Hopefully, someone here will a suggestion or two. I have really been looking forward to this version.
Adding nomodeset in compatibility mode allowed LiveCD to load.
Install of Mint 9 is another story for another post.
