Computer boots fine but without mouse or keyboard
Isadora. I have tried booting into recovery mode and repaired broken packages, make free space, update grub, and booted into failsafe graphics mode. Everything I try is same results: computer boots normally and nothing looks wrong until you put your hand on the mouse and try to move the cursor and find out you don't have a mouse! So you press Ctrl-Alt-Del to bring up the shutdown menu and you find out- you don't have a keyboard either!

Trobleshooting 101
You can also set the BIOS to stop on all errors, which will tell you whether or not the keyboard and mouse are being detected..
--of course to do that the keyboard has to initially work
So, if it does and you still have problems, some more context data might help:
--how you installed the OS, and did you note any issues while installing ?
- Physical connections on the ports

Re: Computer boots fine but without mouse or keyboard
I have booted with a LiveCD and when I do this, I have mouse/keyboard. This isn't a new install. I have been running Gloria/Helena on this machine and recently upgraded to Isadora.
Re: Computer boots fine but without mouse or keyboard
I booted into recovery mode and checked /var/log/Xorg.0.log and found this:
(II)LoadModule: kbd
(WW)Warning, couldn't open module kbd
(II)UnloadModule "kbd"
(EE)Failed to load module "kbd" (module does not exist, 0)

Booting from LiveCD, mouse and keyboard workDrHu wrote:Trobleshooting 101--make sure the physical connections work, maybe try with another OS or the CD

BIOS finds mouse and keyboard
This isn't a new install, I have been using Felicia/Gloria/Helena/Isadora. Upgraded to Isadora via repositories when it was released. It was working fine for days, re-booted and lost mouse/keyboard. I have gotten mouse back, but still no keyboard. I'm thinking this: should I just go ahead and re-install from LiveCD? I backed everything up on a separate drive before I upgraded to Isadora.
