Diplay the GRUB Menu? [Solved]

Post by aroundi »

Hello,

I am running LM9 as the single OS on a laptop. I want to try to fix a graphics problem I am having and would like to try some KMS options which I believe are set as boot options from the GRUB menu. The GRUB menu would show a list of OS choices I think. When booting my laptop I don't get any choices; I go from the PC manufacturer's screen to a Linux Mint logo with 4 progress dots and then to the login screen.

How would I get to a place where I can put in KMS options such as nomodeset?

Something tells me this should be simple, but I can't find it referenced in the forums. I tried pressing TAB and"e" during boot with no luck. There is an F12 option on the manufacturer's screen that just brings up th my hd.

Any help would be appreciated.

Tx

Answer: Hold down SHIFT key while booting (not ESC key as w/ GRUB 1).
