mint 3.1 and 3.0 do thy work on acer aspire 3020?

Postby Rallen on Thu Sep 27, 2007 5:01 am

After booting of the cd and pressing enter and loading of all the files I hear a sound and then the screen remains black.

Yes I know

When the live CD starts up press F6 and delete the "quiet splash --" ending and type in "break=bottom", then boot with this. If you end up in a "busy box" or so, reboot and type in "break=top" instead.

BUT if I push the F6 button I get some options (like if you push f1 and f2 ect.) but do never see the string with "quiet splash" in it like the wiki artikle tells mee. What am I doing wrong???

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

Welcome to Mint Rallen
You get the "string" to change at the bottom of the screen - unless something has changed
Safe graphics mode in Celena and Cassandra is the same as the "vesa" trick in the how to for the live CD - but it's still useful (and there's the odd break=button to test too)
Press F3 and select a low resolution and boot in safe graphics mode
It seems to have an ATI video card and that can be problematic

Thank you,

But just for the record. The thing I should od know is add the line: live break=button?

First try "safe graphics mode" the the button thing
It works on some machines and not on others and it's enough with one post about this
