What is this?

Burned Celena.

I get this message after seeing the initial screen and pushing enter to boot up:

udevd-event 1948: run_program: '/sbin/modprobe/ abnormal exit

Busy Box v1.1.3 (Debian 1:1.1.3-3 something) bla bla

/bin/sh: can't access tty
job control turned off

(initramfs)_

Does anybody have a clue?

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

Welcome to Mint Anaphylaxis
Interesting nick - one could almost suspect you are allergic to something :)
This seems to be your video card giving you problems (could be something else, but this is my first shot)
What video card do you use?
First off to avoid that it is a faulty CD
Have you checked th md5sum? In Windows - if you (have to) use it you have to install a program to check it - google for md5sum checker.
And did you burn at the slowest speed possible?
If so
Use "Safe graphics mode" and if that does not help try the "vesa method" described in the troubleshooter
http://www.linuxmint.com/wiki/index.php ... ur_Live_CD
Try all of break=bottom =top and =button
If this does not help it's probably the motherboard
Then post back and tell us what motherboard and other hardware you've got

Hei på deg, Husse!

I have a columbia GX (GA-85IMC)

Onboard sound and video.

SiS 650 IGUI HMAC 3D Graphic SDR/DDR Chipset

WINBOND W83697HF I/O Controller

AMI BIOS

More info by clicking on the link.

I have tried different alternatives for booting, like nolapic, noapic acpi=off, etc, to no avail.

I tried typing "break=bottom" and "break=top" Didn't help me out- perhaps I should have omitted the quotes?

Just by combining these few options, I could be stuck for a looong time booting and reeboting, if there is a specific combination that should help me out.

I can perfectly boot mandriva 2007 spring, PCLinuxOS, PCFluxboxOS, Ubuntu, Xubuntu etc. (Except getting no screen output while the Ubuntus are booting.)
