Hi. Could who knows how to fix this be kind enough to provide some guidance?
I made the mistake of deleting some system files from my usb flash drive. Now I can't get the BIOS to read the flash drive where as a few weeks before it did so.
I've searched the forums and google to no avail.
How do I get my flash drive back to the way it originally was? That is, how do I get those system files back on to the usb flash drive?
Thanks,
Nima

Re: I messed up my USB Flash
Try to google and look up any undelete app, like:
http://www.thefreecountry.com/utilities ... very.shtml (recuve is freeware)
http://www.freedownloadscenter.com/Util ... Drive.html
http://www.freedownloadmanager.org/down ... _software/
And of course there are some cool cracked full working apps but this is Linux forum, no warez mentioned and unfortunately I don't know any Linux solution. Try google...

Please don't tell me that this flash had your /home on it and it was your boot OS also. If this is the case, welcome to the rest of us who didn't backup, sorry to say. The chances of a resurrection are low. Your best bet is to boot up with another Linux drive and try to move your /home/whateveryourloginnameis to a safe place and then reconstitute the OS on the old drive and then move /home/what.... back to it. This is a little messy and involves the terminal for people like me, but it is not severe.
Post back what your situation is at present.

No, nothing like that. I just wanted to use it to install Mint Julia. I ended up burning a CD but that just seems old fashioned these days.
The files are gone forever. I found something on hp.com for win98. I wonder if it'll work in Vista (I still have it on a partition for emergencies). Then again maybe Wine would run the exe file.
