Two filesystems :/

Post by soapy138 »

ok, i'm not sure but i think i have the os installed in two partitions or something. i had linux 10 on my pc, it crashed when i installed a propeirty driver, and i coudlnt figure how to fix it so i just re-installed linuxmint. i checked the "erase entire disk " box when installing, but now in my file manager/explorer there is a File System, and a 307 GB Filesystem. and when i boot it comes up with options of wether to boot from dev1a or dev1b (not quite sure if thats exactly what the options are but you get the idea) so somehow i think i dual partitioned my drive with two linux mint 10's. Is there anyway to remove the extra partition but still keep all my files, programs, etc?

Try with gparted.

You should first know which Linux are you running in which filesystem.

It won't be very hard though, as it will not let you unmount something currently in use.
