Hi!
If you don't need Mint:
Delete sda6, 5, 8, 7 and then sda3, take a screenshot and attach.

Edit:
My day is ending, let's continue tomorrow.

Hi!
Summary:
You saved data, you don't need sda5 or sda7.
Run GP -> left click on sda6 > Partition > Delete
You see a window:
Delete log. partition...
Repeat the procedure for sda5, 8, 7, 3
> Edit > Apply All Operations.
Test if you can do:
Left click on sda1 > Resize/ move > type new size, e.g. 540000 MiB (~500 GB)
If yes, "apply" , report and attach a screenshot.

There is no sda8 and there is no option to delete sda3

Hi!
You must delete all logical partitions (number 5 and higher, starting at the last one, in your screenshot it is number 6, then 5 ,...)
If swap partition(s) are activated, you have to deactivate them (swapoff).

Hi!
Well done!
1. Ignore the 2.95 MiB at the end - it's no problem.
2. You should consider to create partitions before installing, because you could ask here if it would be okay and you have a better chance for a clean installation.
GP -> left click on "allocated" 43.31 GB > create a new, extended partition.
You should consider to create the following logical partitions within the extended:
1. (gets number 5 after "applying"): root about 10 GB - label it as root
2. Swap about 6 GB
3. home Rest (about 27 GB) - label it as home

EDIT:
I forgot to mention: root format as ext4, swap as sw (or swap or linux-swap - depends on the version), home as ext4.

Hi Prooz!
I'm happy for you; I like to help to assure users of Mint.
But I'm hoping that you don't trust the installing automatism and utilize PartedMagic, especially GParted to create partitions.
No user I assisted during the last years (not only in a Mint forum) had made partitions manually - they all trusted in the automatic installation.

I didn't make any partitions manually this time either. But I don't see how to. When you choose where to install you can't choose what partition to install on.

Hi!
Each installer of a Linux distribution offers "partition manually" or "custom layout" where you always can choose the prepared partitions.

Aah... I remember that. What do I risk by not making them manually?

Hi!
You can't control the automatic installation. In the past we had problems, e.g. that the created root partition was not big enough although there was enough space left, you have no own home partition, and you don't know what happens with swap.
If you don't install a rolling distribution (like LMDE), you should create an own home - to save your files on an extra partition, to keep your settings even after upgrading.

How big should all the partitions be on a USB device, that's 32 GB. Also, That would be everything on that device, so what should be extended and what primary?
