I have Mint 9 installed on a USB thumb drive with persistence and it has worked great for a couple of weeks. Now, Grub will load but when I try to boot Mint, the screen turns gray and I get an error message saying "uncompression error --system halted".
Any ideas on what could cause this? I can reinstall the OS, but I would like to know what caused it in the first place.

Re: Boot from USB
I just noticed that when I check the properties of the drive, it says filesystem: msdos. Is this normal? I guess I formated it in FAT when I made it.
