Hello, I need some help.
I've been running off a 4 gig drive for many months. This has persistence too.
Starting yesterday, it boots to the tiny little white and green beads, and just stays there forever.
What can I do to jump start this drive?
Can I find anything like? :
System Restore
Last known good configuration
Startup Repair
Or equivalent
I will would be able to assess its files with live CDs or other Linux distros.
Where would you look to start fixing it. I could easily wipe it and start fresh, but that would be fudging.
It will start off the non-persistent "live" side OK.
Thanks for any help.

Re: Repairing Mint 9 boot issue (flash drive)
Hi!
You could try to access /var/log/dmesg or similar files on your flash drive:
("dmesg" is a protocol)
If you type - on your hd to get a protocol for the Linux you are on - maybe you get a message of a hundred or more lines.
You can decrease that by typing or instead of "error" another word which you are searching for.

Code: Select all
cat /var/log/dmesg

cat /var/log/dmesg | grep error
