This may be the result of left over password(s) in /home
Not that it should happen
There are some files in /home with keyring in the name that could do something - but again I don't think so.
It can't hurt to delete or remove these keyring files and see what happens

I think I see the problem
When you use the /home partition for more than one installed version you have to
A) Have exactly the same user name in all
B) Have the same UID in all. Mint has 1000 by default
