mint on one internal hdd, vista on other.

so i put a seperate hdd in my moms computer and installed the latest distro of mint on it, while her hdd has vista. that is hd0 and my hdd is hd2. when together they play nice, but when i took my hdd out to put it back in my computer, i cannot boot her computer at all. it seems as though grub is on my hdd and without it the computer wont start.

can someone please help me by telling me how i can have her computer boot with just the vista hdd.

might this be because grub is on the hd2? or that it relies on hd2?

Well if you don't want Mint there you could try "fixmbr" (read the windows documentation for how to use it)
or
You could put the other disk back in there and repair grub

This time you put grub on hd(0,0) and if I'm not mistaken you get the menu even if your disk is not there. I have never done this so I'm not sure about it.
