Hey,
OK so I've installed Mint 10 on yet another PC running alongside Windows 7. It all seemed to install fine, altered the partition, splitting the HDD about 40/60 and Mint installed.
At the end was asked to remove disc, which I did, pressed enter and it rebooted. Only it booted straight to windows and didn't offer me the choice of which OS to use like it does on the other PC's I've got mint loaded.
Is it's something to do with Grub?
I'm now going to try a reboot and then manually select which partition to load.
Install mint next to windows 7, but boot just loads windows.

It definitely may be something to do with Grub. Either grub was not installed in the MBR of the HDD or was installed on another HDD from which you do not boot.
To get a good idea on what is happening, boot Linux from live CD and download and execute the Boot Info Script (available here: http://bootinfoscript.sourceforge.net/) and post your results here.

Thanks,
I've reformatted the partition where Mint was installed and I'm going to try again. If that fails I will try your suggestion.
I wonder if it has anything to do with me running the install from the windows installer, might be better to boot to the DVD and install that way.

Did you leave the "Install grub?" box checked as the final step for installation?
