Installation

Postby mintminty59 on Sun Nov 18, 2007 7:20 pm

Hello there I downloaded the iso for mint 4.0 using dyrana I think it was. Anyway it boots up I get the desktop no problems there , but when I double click on the install icon on the desktop so I can transfer this to my hard drive the following error occurs.

Command '/usr/lib/ubiquity/bin/ubiquity 'kde_ui'' not found.

Is there something I am missing?

Make sure you have checked the following:

-check the MD5 sum
-maybe a bad burn
-check your media
-burn slow if possible (2x or 4x)
-test the media drive
-search the forums
-try the CD in another machine,
-try a different brand of media,
-move the iso to another machine and burn it with it's burner
-try burning the iso to a DVD-RW media
-check to see whether your motherboard / soundcard / network card / "hardware x" is compatible with Linux: http://www.linuxcompatible.org/compatibility.html
-Google for it: http://tinyurl.com/2rfwr
