Bootscreen Issues
A minor issue, but the boot screen won't display the Mint logo since I installed the Nvidia X Server driver. I searched the forum and found this thread with a similar issue, but fortunately in my case the graphics work fine aside from the boot screen.

Re: Bootscreen Issues
I knew about that, but it does not fix the issue and instead it creates the further "vga is deprecated" error. I'm using Mint 10 64-bit, by the way.
Re: Bootscreen Issues
What settings did you set for each of the tabs in Startup-Manager ?
or . . . did you mean something different when you wrote this ?

won't display the Mint logo
Re: Bootscreen Issues
The strange thing is, if I edit any of the settings in the startup manager, I get the "vga is deprecated" message. Also no matter what I do I can't get the settings in the startup manager to match those in /etc/default/grub. When I edit the settings through the startup manager, all it does is change to The "vga is deprecated message starts after this, but does nothing about the other issue.
Code: Select all
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX="gfxpayload=1024x768x24, 1024x768x24 splash"
Code: Select all
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX="gfxpayload=VGA= 792 splash 1024x768x24, 1024x768x24 "
