partitioner error

Post by Nuke »

I've been trying to install ubuntu/mint on my 16GB SSD Asus eee pc 900, but every time it starts installing it comes up with an error at 5%, it says:

"The attempt to mount a file system with type ext4 in
SCSI2 (0,0,0), partition #1 (sda) at / failed.

You may resume partitioning from the partitioning menu"

It then takes me to the partition menu but no matter what I do it says the same error every time.

Can anyone help me plz?

Have you tried to use Gparted to partition the drive manually?

If you have only 512MB of RAM you may need a SWAP partition to do the installation but because you have a SSD you may want to remove it once installed.
