Backlight turned off during boot
Few days ago I downloaded Linux Mint 11, and when I boot with USB to install it dualboot with Winblows7 my backlight is turned off (brightness=0%). It's probably the new kernel thing or something... Anyway I couldn't see much so I postponed installation until the problem is solved! If anyone knows the solution please post it here! If it helps I'm on eMachines E725, with intel GMA 4500 graphics.

Re: Backlight turned off during boot
Try adding acpi_backlight=vendor as a kernel parameter, see https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BootOptions
[Edit] your original post and add [SOLVED] once your question is resolved.

I tried that... It doesn't work, but thanks anyway!remoulder wrote:Try adding acpi_backlight=vendor as a kernel parameter, see https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BootOptions
If you can think of any other solution I'll be glad to give it a try!
